  • Light/medium garnet color, faded pink at edges. Slight legs.

On the nose, floral notes, ripe strawberry-apple, passion fruit, along with gamey meat, truffles.

At first taste, fairly smooth. Strawberry, apple, hint of oak. Some oxidised flavor. Finish is dominated by quite sharp acid zing on tongue. This softens after a very short while. Tannins very smooth, but lingering powder on teeth is noticeable.

Although this may be past it's peak, it still has a nice freshness to it once it has had a little air.

I didn't expect to like this, but it was ok.

  • Corks: Burgundy (Rossford, OH): Candied nose, a bit like a Nouveau, with a nice minerality hidden. Acidic, medium- body, medium tannins. Lots of candied red cherries, which honestly, compared to a good Cru Beaujolais, pales in a big way. Simple and pleasant, but for the same price range, give me a nice Morgon or Fleurie anyday.
