1hr+ decant. Slightly over the hill. Definitely old world style. Didn’t guess Syrah when I blind tasted two weeks ago. More Bordeaux qualities with some smokiness and dark fruit elements.

Bright, translucent red color. Fragrant nose of cherries. Light, beautiful and dancing on the palate. Red fruits, cherries, pepper. Soft tannins, bright acidity, nice balance. Just a hint of heat. Finishes long, long with blueberries and spice. Still drinking well but starting to fade a bit. I'd drink over the next 2 years or so.

Some brick red to orange on the outside edges. Medium color. Nose is woody but still a raw jam quality. Taste has some of that oxidation on front, but does yield to spicy raspberry toward end, lots of power lurking. On the decline but not dead. Drink up.

Opened up stale and muted, but I'd also chilled it down upright in the regular fridge to control sediment. It became a stunning and savory dance of menthol and earth, along with white pepper and some soft tannins. Good grip, too. It changed and continued to mesmerize over six or seven hours, during a long day of eating -- it was paired it with Thanksgiving dinner. A unicorn wine for a unicorn year.

Gem of a bottle. Still has plenty of fruit up front, some light tannin and great structure. Slow ox did it good, just kept going all night.
