Dark straw/mid-gold colour shows the age but there's still acidity present, this is mature but alive.
The fruit has faded a bit but I'd say just to a good point where the secondary and tertiary flavours are on equal footing with the primary fruit.
The citrus has mellowed into lemon butter and there's vanilla and oak spice and a subtle nutty note. Texture is a big deal here. I don't normally think about tannin in white wines but there is tannin and a weighty thickness.
It's now a Chardonnay for cheese rather than a seafood entree.

This wine has now peaked, and it shows much more evolution than a year ago. It will hold for another few years but no reason to wait. I will be drinking all my remaining cases this/next year. Lots of ripe lime coming through now, and a touch less body. 91-92pts. Best drunk by 2018.

Bottle tonight was noticeably worse - more acidity with dominant flavour of lime. At a push this could be oak + Claire Valley Polish Hill! Last 3 cases have been great with a couple of years left, but will need to open another soon to confirm. NR (was in 89-90pt range)

This is now mature but showing no signs of going downhill - I actually prefer it to a few years ago. Far more depth of flavour, mouthfeel and complexity. Still need to write a proper tasting note! 375ml bottles haven't fared so well, but still have a couple of regular bottle cases left- should drink past 2020 easily. Remains my favorite vintage of Coddington to date... Maybe even my favorite Kumeu wine to date.

Bright glowing gold color.
Strong presence of oak on the nose with plenty of apricots too.
Just a little fat on the palate. Very ripe peaches, but balanced by great acid, fullness and length.
I'm pretty sure the new oak amount is kept in check, but for some reason it shows here.
