This is not exactly my favorite style of Sauvignon Blanc. I respect what they are trying to do, and can see how many would really love this, but mostly, it is not for me. There is a greenish, rustic, super herbaceous aroma and flavor that reminds me of some of those Cotes de Gascon wines, but without the layered flavor profile. I have to admit, toward the finish, this flavor profile grows on you, and reminds me of what I remember tasting the St. Supery unoaked Chardonnay from Napa Valley. There are lots pungent, green garden meets unripe citrus aromas. There is a nice golden richness to the color. Some air, and warming towards room temperature calms down some of the harshness I originally tasted. Still quite green and acidic. This wine is begging for some blue cheese. The finish leaves a distinct lemon lime almost asparagus flavor on the roof of the mouth. One redeeming quality is the extreme palate cleansing characteristic.

This really is not too shabby. Ripe pomelo and nashi pear with sweet morning dew grass. Very delightful notes.
