While noticeable, the flaws of this wine (thin, very light fruit, strong dry wood on the back end) don't make it undrinkable. In general, I'd rather have wines that fail this way than those that fail with over the top fruit, too much alcohol, or too much sweet oak.

OK Bordeaux blend but slight off-note of woodiness in the palate. Don't think the bottle was corked but spolit what would have otherwise been quite a plesant wine.

Old school. Light weight, thin, low alcohol (12.5%). I've had wines with lots of tannins before, but usually combined with big fruit and oak. This wine is dusty dry, has no fruit, no significant oak, and yet significant tannins. I smiled on every sip, because it just seemed so improbable. Let's sell a wine with no sugar, no weight, no fruit, and lots of tannins. :-) Sort of fun as an educational wine and the low alcohol does make it go down easy. Not sure I'd choose it for pleasure, though.

A solid Bordeaux on a budget. Yummy black seeded-fruit, cherries and plums, muted and controlled tannins, nice nose and finish, great balance.

Very mild bouquet of plum and slight palette of dark berries. Overall went well with duck breast!
