  • No detailed notes. Struck me as simple, but pleasant. It was Riesling-like in character, with pineapple and a bit of cane sugar. It is "late harvest" but there was really no trace of botrytis that I could detect. There was decent acidity and not too much sweetness, so serve it with lighter desserts or sip it on it's own when you don't want to work too hard. The finish is medium-short. I paid $16 for this, which was probably too much. It's probably worth about $12.

  • Simple, with pineapple flavors and moderate sweetness. I've had Spatlese rieslings that were sweeter, though. Not much acidity, but still enjoyable. Fairly priced at $13

(Santa Julia Torrontés Tardio, Mendoza (500 ml)) At 9.5% alcohol and 120 grams per liter of residual sugar, this is a beautifully balanced, light, elegant dessert wine. It has notes of fresh and dried pineapple, marzipan, Nilla wafer, candle wax, incense, and violet candy and a long, bright, juicy, and not-too-sweet finish. Special Report: Argentina
