Gads. Same thing all over again. This is a disaster. Hot, peppery, overextracted sap. No brett (yes, i suppose it could have been worse), but I can't for the life of me figure out why Rimmerman would ever have sold this. Feels like a snow job.

This comes across to me as overly heavy, overripe, fruity and oaky with no real structure. Re-reading the Garagiste description, I guess that's what he meant by a barbeque wine and indeed it might seem less syrupy against some bbq sauce.

(GASSIER Nostre Pais) Gassier Dear Friends, Sometimes you want nothing more than a picnic or barbeque wine that will slather the palate and turn any frown upside down. Of course, it also has to be from an exemplary vintage, 50-100 year old vines and made with the same attention to detail as a luxury Chateauneuf-du Pape. If that sounds like something you would be happy to call your own for , here you go... A crazy value in 2007 southern wine from a parcel of vieilles vignes fruit that was just about perfect in the vintage. Solid if unexceptional cotes du rhone-esque wine. Black fruit. Not too funky. Some minerality.
