Praelum - South Africa: Then and Now (Praelum Wine Bistro): Medium lemon colour. Some ripe pineapple and bruised apple aromas, vanilla, hay, and a bit grassy. Lemon peel, pineapple, hay, wheat, cloves, nutmeg, fern leaves, soft clay soils. Good length of ripe fruits and clay. Nice!

On its own. Quite tight on opening, possibly even reduced. Closer to dry than off-dry I think: quite like a South Hemisphere riesling, but without the lime, this is more apple. With air it becomes quite like apple tart or spiced pear too. Very enjoyable. Later it reminds me of white burgundy, clearly this has been oak-aged and is giving a nice pastry note. Very good. Quite layered.

Full bodied yeasty oxidized a bit?
Round fleshy but not with oak. Not bad but maybe a bit older than recommended?

Very Vouvray-like on the nose: the seashore and table grapes, quite intense. Good palate: plenty of acidity and flavour.
