Fading colour, with significant browning. Advanced nose of kindling, forest floor, cloud ear fungus, cherry, raspberry, and well-integrated toasted oak. Palate structure is coming undone - ethereal - and there are soft, faded notes of oak, dry leaves, and vanilla, but still strong fruit notes of red cherry and blackberry. Time reveals notes of olorosso, mushy banana, and tart cranberry. A wonderful blend of rich aged character and still-lively fruit.

Deep blackberry colour with some hints of maturity at the rim. Wasn't expecting this kind of vigour from a 10yo Kiwi pinot. Broad, confident nose, displaying typical New World pinot characteristics of a confected, rubbery scented raspberry and kirsch fruit. Perfectly balanced by farmyard undertones and toasty oak. Palate is big, ripe, again dominated by kirsch and wild raspberry. Restrained acidity and a hint of tannins which betray good extraction work during fermentation. Finish is long and harmonious. This is a big, charming, but also balanced and perfectly executed PN. I never expected it to be so fresh and confident: surely at its peak now?

Earthy aromas of wet moss and a hint of licorice. Flavors of strawberry, spice and cigar are very smooth and delicious. The finish is short, but you are eager for the next sip.

deep dark ruby red colour with aroma that opens up more and more. long silky aftertaste. Last bottle felt just right, this one had some tannin and acid and could have been cellared a bit longer. excellent
