Bright blueberries, graphite, glycerine, creosote, purest Welch's grape jelly, smoke, earth, this bottle is young, and has a decade in hand easily. I wouldn't want to defer gratification though, as it's stupendous now. One of the best syrah based wines of all time for me, Burge nailed it in 2001.

Wow. I was seeking the 01 Draycott Reserve after an amazing bottle a couple months ago. Thought that was what this was when purchased. Ooops. And yet, this did not disappoint in the least. Basically exactly identical to that bottle, but with maybe a bit less of a structured spine. This gem is ready to go. Stupendous. Among the best Aussie Shiraz of all time for all four of us at the table, including two that lived there for a decade. Drink now and for another 6 years or so.

Quick note; Sweet, round, dark fruit nose. Black cherry on the palate, intermixed with dark chocolate and notes of sweet blackberry. A low acid wine, it is not going to improve much beyond its current state, drink up.

Bottle #4 of 4. Delicious, but fading a bit. Consistent with previous notes. Time to drink up.

Killer Shiraz. A little heat on the finish as this evolved in glass at about the 90 minute mark. Drink soon.
