Trying to wait on these, but it’s tough! Quick decant. Strong licorice notes, with classic roses, tar and a bit of menthol and pine. Nicely balanced. Beautiful dark red fruit; cherries, chocolate covered cherries, licorice and truffle. Tannins still grippy. Delicious!

Opened during family dinner by occasion of my wife and me birthday. Full body, transparent ruby colour. Impressive red fruits, flowers, sweet tobacco and tar aroma combined with truffles and forest floor’s background. Nebbiolo benchmark palate of strawberry, blackberry and sweet spices following by muscular tannins and long, rounding finish of vital acidity. Powerful, rich and complex but harmonious, well balanced and still fresh. Food friendly, well pairing to risotto ai funghi. Open one hour ahead. Serve 18ºC - 20ºC. Drink now and the next eight/ten years.

Still young but enjoyable, none the less…. Classic licorice, rose and tar. Good, not great balance; a bit tannic and blocky with PnP. As is usually the case, the last glass was the best - red cherries more prominent, softer and lighter on its feet. Another five would be best, but I’m not sure if I can wait.

Wines Before / At / After a Passover Seder (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Small glass. 375 ml bottle. I imagine this was better when fresher than tonight, this format certainly didn't help, with a firm and faintly drying finish. 89 points tonight, but from 375.
