Typically a wine I adore. This had a knockout nose of rich red fruits along with a soft and supple texture. However, the fill was down a couple cm and the cork was totally soaked through. The wine was coming apart a bit in the glass. Was good and drinkable but not what this wine should be - bottle may have had some heat damage.

Nose: Abundant cherry and redcurrant straight out of the glass; on palate initially quite tart. Decanted for approx. 1 hr. and thereafter this really began to sing. Voluptuous, still tannic. Left a long, licorice-y aftertaste. Very good.

Pretty shut down and mostly structure at this point. Tart and high acid, but with some meaty fruit underneath. Fine as an experiment, but no need to try for at least another five years.

Some bricking on the edges of the glass. Sweet tobacco and faint red fruit on the nose. Half an hour later faint black fruit emerged on the nose. The palate was medium bodied with good acidity, a medium-long finish, and tannins that were still fairly aggressive - suggesting that this still needs more time. Not much in the way of tertiary flavors. Lacks the complexity I expected from a heralded producer and vineyard in Pommard.
Gathering with Burgundy Lovers: Ripe, mellow blue and red fruits with earth, intense wood spice and just touch of Sous bois. High acidity, mellow ripe fruits, firm tannin and some oak here. Nice grip on the palate. Powerful, mouth coating and very Long. A touch edgy. This has just entering the secondary stage, approachable but not really into the drinking window yet, the power of 99. Curious to know how is the interaction of the fruits and tannin 5-10yrs down the road.
