NobleRottersSydney - 'Bet you've never tasted this before' (Alio's, Surry Hills): [screwcap, 13.9%] {Graeme} Garnet. Developing nose of strawberries and cream. No stalky or green notes are apparent, but it avoid jamminess. There’s a touch of dark chocolate about the developing flavours, still no green apparent, but dustily dry tannins and submerged oak give it a little grip. Only medium-bodied in weight, it does have a well-balanced presence along the tongue and a medium-plus finish, albeit slightly warm. Maybe has another 5 years of development left, and although a decently interesting wine, lacks the ultimate complexity. Nice wine for the label’s debut, though, and suggests future vintages will be worth watching.

Taste of Tasmania 09/10 (Hobart): {screwcap, 13.9%, A$50} Maturing nose of cured meats laced with liquid crimson velvet. The palate is very seductive, all wet leaves, forest floor, with plenty of animal/meaty flavours. It's softly seductive, with fine tannins, a generally medium-bodied feel - the actual underlying flavour & structure profile is not that different to the regular pinot bottling (allowing for the extra aging), but what this wine has is length, man. More persistence than a nagging in-law. Extremely attractive wine, and well-priced in context.

Wine-Ark Cellar Club Tasting 10 - November 2009. Josef Chromy, Giant Steps, Craggy Range (Roof Terrace Australian Museum): Nose: green pea, funky but not in a good way...this overlays some deeply hidden red berry fruit
Mouth: Peppery, plenty of tannin but, again, the fruit is just buried in here.
Not too special
