Sweeter with less acidity. This is a great sparkling wine for the masses as most people like it. But I think that Chateau St. Michelle Blanc de Blanc is much better with cheese.

Light yellow hue. Hints of yeast along with odd, off putting aromas reminiscent of sewage on the nose. Medium to light bodied. Simple flavors of citrus (grapefruit?) with notes of either unripe fruit or vegetal flavors. Hint of sweetness actually makes this more palatable. Low acidity for a sparkler.
Pretty label on the bottle, though...

This is an odd bottle of sparkling wine. Most Champagne and sparkling wine bottles have a fairly decent sized punt in the bottom of the bottle but this bottle is completely flat on the bottom. I guess weird bottles are the status quo for these Sofia wines (see their still Rosé which is bottled in a glass bowling pin). The wine itself is a golden yellow color with a nutty, yeasty nose but flavors that border on over sweet for a sparkler. We didn't really care for it that much but I can see how it would appeal to some people.

Fresh. Crisp. Nice as it was a humid day in SF. Went well with crab cakes and grilled endive.

Surprisingly good but could use a bit more flavor. Smooth and very drinkable.
