Tasty bitter cherry and red currant fruit, nice earth and hints of tar on the nose, long tasty finish. Solid 90 points. Still hanging in nicely, though this is my last bottle :(

Amazing - virtually unchanged in 5 years. Drinking very fresh and vibrant from my cellar. Just delicious. If you combine Anthony Galloni's and Ian d'Agata's notes on this wine, you nail it perfectly. Yum.

This is still holding on to it's fruit but it's clear that time will not improve this wine. I'd drink it sooner rather than later. Still the dark cherry flavors mix with leather and tertiary notes. Good QPR.

solid midweek CC; decent length, solid acidity and good sangi secondary flavors. wine also had a good earthy, drier tannin texture. not spectacular but solid.

(BOSSI Chianti Classico) Italy Dear Friends, Tuscany enjoyed a stellar harvest in 2006 and again in 2007 with back-to-back growing seasons that are akin to a combination 1988 and 1990. There is much to be excited about but I am especially enthralled with some of the lower level wines that elevated their status into rarified company normally reserved for Riserva or even IGT classification (i.e., the disparity between something like Cepparello, a pure Sangiovese at $40+, and a number of 2007 Chianti/Riserva is more difficult to distinguish in 2007). I have a number of favorites but we may as well start with one of the best price/value deals I’ve found - a recurring theme lately. A blend of old and new that gets it just right, Castello di Bossi has delivered their finest regular Chianti of the decade with a wine that will have far-reaching appeal (to the intellectual as well as the casual observer). The key is the addition of a generous amount of their Riserva wine and the result is a top-level expression of varietal and vintage with its best days well off in the distance (at least 2-4 years from now). I selected this wine in a line-up of over 50 examples of 2007 Chianti and it continues to dance a gracious two-step, even today (open for three days). Another house wine candidate, this parcel has just been bottled and labeled for us. As far as provenance is concerned, the wine is as fresh as it gets - the fact that is was reviewed yesterday in the WA is a bonus: Wine Advocate from yesterday’s new issue In truth, the quality of this Chianti speaks from the glass not from the printed word (including my own) - it’s just a darn good drink to enjoy any night of the week and it should prove to be quite versatile with cuisine – from pizza to country stew. FIRST COME FIRST SERVED up to 60/person until we run out This parcel is directly from the winery cellar with perfect provenance: 2007 Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico - To order: niki@garagistewine.com This parcel will arrive in the late fall (it was just bottled and labeled for us) - my guess is November/December arrival. Drinking really nicely. Don't know why people think it is near the end. Super smooth. Bit of leather.
