No signs of aging in the dark red color. Slight nose of rose and dust with some bright plum fruit. Medium to full mouth feel. Tannin and acid still present. Plum, pomegranate, black tea flavors with a finish of sour cherry and some tannin generated dryness. Did not decant. Smoothing out at the 1 hour mark with diminished tannins and fuller red fruit with that nice sour cherry note on the finish.
Bought this recently to try out an aged chianti at reasonable price - comparable to the CT average. Remarkable for its age, price, complexity and enjoyment.

Popped and poured with Italian food last nite. Nose of cherries & some earth. Still plenty of sweet cherries here, mixed with some dirt, earth, & spice. Help up pretty well over all these years. Bottle emptied quickly

Quite reduced but breathes to show notes of liquorice, black cherry, sweet cedar and earth. There’s an intensity of fruit and some drying wood tannins on the finish.

Wineflock - Chianti Classico Riserva (Matasar's): Group #6, My #8 - Full coffee red color. Pale cherry nose with briar and a dusty note. Chewy juicy red fruit with a firm but round tannic finish. Hints of tar.
