  • Last bottle of a case purchased in 2010. Consistent with my previous notes. This continues to drink beautifully, with plenty of ripe, sweet fruit still remaining. Shows tremendous depth and focus on the mid-palate, yet is relatively light on its feet. Wonderfully balanced, with a moderate acidity and slightly-chewy tannins that are now almost fully integrated. Very long and so delicious. Gorgeous Toscana.

  • Purple color with a vague bouquet and flavor that hinted at plums. The wine was very tannic and acidic. It might get better with more aging, but it goes against my current tendency not to waste my life waiting for wines to become drinkable, particularly when a wine is ten years old. Carpe diem.

  • Consistent with my prior notes. What a Tuscan gem this is. Still looks very youthful and has a beautiful nose of dark fruits, earth and spice. Full-bodied, but not at all heavy or over-extracted. There's amazing depth and intensity to the palate on this. So much sour cherry, plum and blackberry fruit character here, without a lot of weight. Wonderfully balanced and very, very long. One of the best under-$20 Toscanas I have ever tasted. 92+

  • Suspected that there would be a problem with this bottle when the cork broke and I could see tell-tale signs of rot and seepage. This wine is so good that even though partially spoiled, it was still very drinkable.

  • Consistent with my previous notes. Beautiful all around. Dark in color with a very attractive Tuscan nose of ripe berries, leather and spice. Medium-to-full bodied and beautifully balanced. Lots of sour cherry flavor on the mid-palate, then turns slightly sweet on the long, smooth finish. Polished, complex and absolutely delicious.
