  • Quite a dark ruby red colour. Slight earthy nose on opening, needs to warm up a bit from cellar perhaps. Entry is nice, clean, primary sweet fruit. Grows to a candy mid mouth with a bit of spice. Finished with thyme and late tannins with a bit of herbaceous character to the finish. Fairly straightforward and candy like through most of the profile with a touch of interest. On the downhill side, the 2018 end date is right.

  • Très concentré, fruit noir, goudron, réglisse, un vin au corps charpenté, à l'alcool élevé, bien pour un dessert au chocolat noir ! Encore jeune, à revoir dans 3/4 ans ?

  • Mistakenly opened as the Blanc on Friday night, so it had a day to breath. Didn't really do it any good. Animale, leathery, dark dark black fruit and cedary on the nose. Over extracted dark fruit in the mouth, peppery, oaky, firm tannin. Couldn't quite decide where there was some TCA or too much oak. What spoilt it though was the big alcoholic finish.

A shame as it was my favourite in the tasting at the winery back in July 2011.

  • Colour: an incredibly deep violet with blue highlights
Nose: powerful red fruits, with mint and pepper
Mouth: no harsh tannins, great volume in the mouth, licorice, blackberry and a slight animal note.

Very good, I love what Hervé Bizeul does
