Seems to be improving. The tartness is receding and some riper fruit is emerging. Continue to be surprised by the lack of typical California oak influence.

Not at all what one would normally expect from a RR valley Merlot. Very little oak influence, tart red cherry, lifted acidity, and plenty of tannin on the finish. This wine seems very young and disjointed. Aromas improved and acidity diminished with 24 hours of air. Will wait a few months before drinking the next one.
