  • Wonderfully balanced with hints of tart black berries, raspberries, black cherries and charcoal

Balanced tannins. Elegant wine. In a great spot right now

  • Decanted for an hour. Black/garnet core, with a lightening rim. A wondrous nose of powdered milk chocolate, currant, sweet basil, toast, leather and dark berries. Very full-bodied for this wet vintage. The finish is sweet and long with layers of chocolate, herb and berries. Polished and almost chewy tannins. The best 2002 Tuscan wine I have ever had and there's a lot of years left. I love the interaction of every nuance, with a pristine amount of concentration. An Old-World joy which exemplifies that aspect. Drink now - 2020.

  • leans towards the Old-World style, the nose has classic sangiovese characteristics of sandlewood, leather, and cherry, there was also some blackberry pie coming through too, the palate is un-heavy, with focused black fruit, wood, cherry, and smoke, dry, stands up to a rib-eye steak well, very well-weighted
