Since there is hardly a reference point this one is mostly judged stylistically. If a sherry is ever made in an oriental style, this is how I would imagine it tastes like. Soft and rounded. More covertly sweet than overt. Obviously unusual but built from a palette of familiar notes rather than anything exotic. This one gets a couple of extra points from me who is always a sucker for a wine with a good story. 95 points. The 49' and 45' were tasted side by side. However, without more sampling of each vintage or such style in general, it is difficult for me to assign different grades to the two.

You guise. Holy hell. SO SOFT. I thought a 40-year Tawny was smooth but this is next-level shit. Toasted marshmallow, golden raisin, burnt sugar, caramel. But SOFT. Truly a beautiful wine.

Bricking dark orange red color; walnut, ginger cake, caramel, baked raspberry nose; walnut, smoky, ginger cake, spice palate; long finish (lacking the acidity of the best Rivesaltes)

Night with the boyz at Capella (Capella): Very interesting, a bit oxidized, thick mouthfeel and fading fruit. Still it's actually very good overall.
