  • This was tasted in the same cold weather as the Merlot and Cab. Sauv, and again I am sure that did not help the wine any. Yet the wine still gave some aromas and a flavor profile. Like the other 2 Cuda Ridge wines I tasted, this is made in a traditional Bordeaux style, elegant, medium bodied and food friendly. This wine is 90% Cab. Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Cab. Sauv. and 2 % Petit Verdot. This wine also had a surprisingly low alcohol content at 12.6% The wine is medium bodied and brick red, it gives off aromas of red berry. floral aromas, cinnamon/spice and cocoa. It tasted of cassis, raspberries and a bit of olive and milk chocolate. This one is the most approachable of the 3 and while it will improve, I do not believe it will have as long a life ahead of it like the Merlot and Cab. Sauv. A very good wine, and again so pleasing and refreshing to see a winery going back to tradition with low alcohol food friendly wines. With this one I think the right food pairing will bring more out of it as well.
