2 years on from the last bottle, this one keeps impressing. Tonight it is with dried roses on the nose. A lot af quite mature notes, but still a fresh and lively wine with many years to go. On the palate a soft tannic grip and a long aftertaste. Brovia is top shelf.

Classic Nebbiolo in style, roses and tar, slightly bricking. Good balance. Just starting to develop some secondary flavors. This is not glossy or polished. PnP, long decant not necessary but still a bit tannic. In a perfect spot to check in. Good but NOT exceptional.

Another tight and fairly severe version of this wine after a recent bottle showed beautifully (no notes from me on that one although Biskuit was at the dinner and wrote it up below.) This bottle is fine but has none of the magic of the last. I tried decanting it for longer and it opened up a bit. Even on day 2 this was grumpy and shut down. The bottle variability with Brovia is maddening at times.

Decanted for a few hours and then back in the bottle. Decent amount of sediment. A little funk on the nose, very grippy tannin. Nice but tastes a little more mature than it should while staying very tannic. Day two, comes together more, albeit a little anonymous and not super exciting. Based on this bottle I don’t know if this will ever hit the bullseye, but I have a few more and think I’ll wait a few more years to find out.

Late in the night, but this really showed well after a round of burgundy. JCWL's note below sounds about right.
