Tasting room pour. Gamey, leathery, peppery fruit on the nose. Black pepper, black olive, and lush black fruit fill the palate. Smooth silk feel, round tannins, and long finish. Excellent.

The aroma of this wine is very unique, showing distinct tones of pomegranate, red currants, and something hinging on passion fruit. Violets and black pepper open up with a spin in the glass, and a combination of black stone and red rose petals shows clearly around the edges.
Rich black pepper and spice introduce the palate, with dried orange peel and dusty leather appearing immediately afterward. Dark cherries, raspberries, and a silky, creaminess appear at the mid palate and into the finish. This is a beautifully smooth wine, with refined tannins, impressive complexity, and ripe acidity. Very well made and easily worth trying.

No formal notes but this continues the trend of everything we have had from Purisima Mountain being excellent and worth seeking out.
