  • Breathed for 2 hours. A soft cedar colour. Turps, coffee, chocolate, and black olive on the nose. The taste was nice with an under current of toffee and sweet berries. The tannin's were soft & supple but a nice addition. I feel some of the guts had been ripped out of the wine through time but nonetheless very enjoyable.

  • Bought at auction. The cork was stained just 2mm at the wine end, so perfect that for a moment I was afraid it was a fake bottle but one whiff and i knew it was pure true Graveyard. Classic HV Shiraz notes but distinguished by the depth and concentration which was outstanding. Again, on the palate this was clearly a superb wine that really enthralled with depth, concentration and complex interplay of elements. Softened over the hour of drinking. Looong finish. i'm going to look for more of this.

  • Lots of variation in recent bottles, so decided to open the last one. Not disappointed. Decanted 1 hour. Dark fruits, with dark chocolate, iodine, leather, violet and spice. Palate was medium to full and carried the intensity through to a long finish. Of all the recent bottles, this one, oddly, gave the impression that it could easily last for some time yet.

  • SLDS February 2017: Toast, ash, vanilla, meat and leather. Good savoury and spicy fruits on the palate, this shows very good length. There are hints at brett but it is low level. In a really nice spot for drinking now and over the next 4-5 years.

  • Deep garnet. Black fruits emerge with some earthy scents. Such a deep and dense wine here. Fruit is formidable, almost (but not) jammy even. Kind of primary still. So different to 2 recently consumed bottles from other sources.
