Popped and poured from 375, deep black cherry hue. Initially reticent, after a good 2-3 hours this starts unwinding into lovely, continually evolving aromas of plummy dark fruits, black raspberry, cherry tobacco, fresh herbs (verbena, basil?), autumnal notes and tinges of iron and ash. Medium-plus body, nice concentration. Earthy dark fruits and saline minerals on the palate, which is a bit less exuberant than the nose. The tannins are chewy, big and somewhat astringent on the long close. This is entering a window of drinkability, should be at an apogee within the next 2-5 years and last plenty longer.

Drank this with two other Beaune 1er (B. Morey Greves and Chanson Clos des Feves) and this clearly provided the superior character. Too long ago now to write a proper note, but remember good colour, some sour cherry and hibiscus on the nose, a good balance across the palette and good strong finish. Very highly rated by all.

Not good at the moment -- at least this bottle wasn't. Intriguing secondary and borderline tertiary components aromatically and on the initial palate give way to harsh and abrupt tannins. Never really opened up with time/air either. Not sure where this goes, but the best bet seems to be to tuck away and revisit in a bunch of years.

(Chateau de Chorey Beaune 1er Cru "Teurons") Red fruits, minerals along with good strong acids really bring this together. Explosive in the mouth with sappy black cherry fruit. This is a stunner.
