Fully mature black and red cherry with plenty of earth and sweet spice, but still surprisingly vibrant and fresh (enough) with good length, lots of nuanced with a long, finessed finish. Best after open 5-10 minutes, this stayed strong for almost two hours.

This has really come around. It's shed its oak veneer. Pretty cherry red fruit and baking spice nose with a bit of tea and forest floor. This has nice balance with strawberry red fruit, tea and spice repeating on the palate. Good balance with just a bit of drying tannin on the finish. Maybe a bit past its prime as the fruit is showing some oxidative notes. But overall still very much alive and a very nice wine. Drink up.

At tasting. Brief note. Pours a deep purplish red in the glass. Nose and palate show good concentration and intensity of flavors showing black cherry, pepsi cola/sassafras, ton of fresh baking spice including peppery nutmeg and cinnamon, hint of well integrated vanillin oak and gravelly soil mineralité. Midpalate was rich and powerful with good definition thanks to the piercing acid and fine grained tannins which kept everything together and well focused. Finish is medium (+) with the black cherry and cola coming to the foreground an finishing spicy on the finish. Lost the minerals I was craving at the backend of the finish but this was still a nice drink nevertheless and very much alive.

Popped-and-poured. Mature, ripe red fruit with plenty of baking spice. Good touch of earth to start, which gradually became more pronounced with more time in glass. I found it at its best once open 15-20 minutes, and it started getting less interesting after open 2 hours.

(Flowers Pinot Noir Camp Meeting Ridge) Group's #5 (my #4) - tight, faintly savory alcohol and cherry nose; tight tart cherry palate, with oak at the edges; tart medium finish 88+ pts.

Drinkable but fading, as there isn’t enough fruit left to balance the remaining tannic structure and the age hasn’t brought added complexity.
