  An interesting nose, maybe from the distinctive profile of the 2008 vintage. We decanted for about 40 minutes. The first several sips were too acidic and had that much lauded (though personally disliked) 2008 flavor. It then opened up with good cherry and red fruit flavors that mingle with earth. If it tasted like it does now two hours ago it would have scored higher. Next time we will give it a couple of hours decanted and swirled. This wine has a velvety mouth feel and a long layered finish. The acid, which I originally thought was over powering, is now balanced with the fruit. Giving it more time before drinking is definitely a plus with this wine. Started scoring this 88-89, tasting it now it's a 91-92. Changing my original score from 89 to 90 averaging the two differences.

  Wine of the night. Elegant, approaching perfection. This is a truly great wine in a really good vintage. Consume on special occasions.

  This is a great bottle of wine. Excellent balance, great fruit, mid-palate, and an exquisitely smooth finish. Best bottle of the night against some other very good Oregon pinots.
