blind This was one of 120 Chateau late release bottles, so the storage was not the problem but the vinatge I think. Miss length and extract fruit sweetness. 92

The Ritz - London. Magnum. Obviously given age and vintage we were not expecting fireworks but this was very good indeed. The colour was lovely, almost no browning at all. The nose was a mixture of dusty library and rich fruits but the old library smell blew off quite quickly. We decided not to decant. The palate was surprisingly ‘together’.. quite rich blackberry fruits. Fresh, almost no prune flavours at at. Obviously no discernible tannin and very very silky. It really was a lovely bottle that belied the vintage (thanks Chris, Bacchus).

PR 1969 Extravaganza: Herbal, stewed fruit and menthol on the nose. Palate seems a little on the thin side, without too much depth or power behind it. Drinks okay, but doesn't live up to the producer.

Surprisingly good considering 69 was supposed to be a very bad year and it is now 45 years old. I had six bottles three were bad and three were spectacular!
