May have been a little past it's prime as it showed more non-fruit than fruit characteristics. Nonetheless, well balanced and good. Had the same day as the Joel Gott 2005 Chardonnay and this was the preference. Buttery but not overly oaky. Overall liked, but not for the money. Ridiculously golden in color.

Bright disc. Light to medium straw/yellow robe with clear rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense fig, pear, caramel and vanilla aromas. After 30-45 minutes in the glass, hints of tropical fruit enter the picture (unusual for a Chardonnay from this area). Medium-bodied on the palate, with good acidity and similar flavors as for the nose. Medium, slightly hot finish. This wine does not show much bottle-age complexity at this point, but is still very vibrant. Accordingly, another year or two in the bottle is warranted before re-tasting.

Most impressive, even at this age. Like a lovely Montrachet, with slightly more body hints of nuts, dark champagne in color
