Served blind. Medium golden color. Rich and decadent, showing buttercream cake, vanilla icing, and marshmallow. Before you say that sounds like a note from a kid’s birthday party, it was made more regal by balanced supporting acidity. I guessed 2006 Chassagne Montrachet village level, and don’t feel bad about it as there was little mineral signature that usually leads me to Puligny. I would serve this with scallops and I would do so quickly, it is past its best and will not hold on well going forward.

Nose of toasty oak and beautiful minerality. Oak initially a bit strong but calmed down. Classic minerality, lemon/citrus with long mineral finish. 91 points

All the minerally slatey notes of Puligny on the nose and on the palate with a citrusy lemon note throughout. Beautiful balance, beautiful finish. However, color has moved from white gold to a slightly deeper gold. Very much in the drinking window - will keep but nowhere near as long as many other 2008 white burgundies.

91/100
One buttery Chardonnay with a lively zip. Lemon curd and vanilla. Sharp and precise palate, with somewhat burning sensation. Not bad.
