shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. due to an inventory error, this bottle got lost in the cellar. opened tonite as a feared that it might be past its prime as per my previous note. surprised to find that the wine was still in good shape. we have enjoyed valentina wines across many vintages and at different price points. he is a reliable producer who is starting to get the recognition in the usa market that he deserves as his products generally show better than average for the region. it did not disappoint. generous red fruit and earthiness. a little brown licorice as well. this wine is an example of the quality and value one can count on in a bottle from valentina. probably at its best now. would be fun to see if it could go further, but, alas i have no more of this vintage.

Average. I found this wine overly concentrated, fruity, unbalanced and one dimensional. Perhaps it is meant to be sipped, because I felt it clashed with food, but I grew tired of it after a few sips.
