  • From another half bottle , this is definitely extravagantly rich to the point of snobbery. Rich ripe dripping creamy lemony goodness of batard. Somewhat a lil overpowering. Not the most subtle of wines.

  • My last half bottle. This is definitely aging faster than it should. Deep buttery yellow in color. This also displays the buttery creamy ripe lemons creme with vanilla whipped cream. Opulent and Americanized chard style with tinge of minerality. Time to drink up.

  • Lunch at Dezato (Dezato, Jalan Telok): Yet another 375ml. This was decently good without going anywhere near the standard of the best examples we had. I put it down to bottle variation. However, given the recent notes on the wine, it may well be that it is actually starting to shut down somewhat. This still had a pretty nice nose on the day, with some earth and mineral nuances shading into fleshy white fruit and sweet pears aromas, with some musky floral notes and a lick of creme fraiche at the sides. The palate was rather light for a Batard, with a little metallic twang underscoring its otherwise fleshy flavours of white fruit and cream. That being said though, this was still a wine of good depth and breadth, something that was obvious on it substantial midpalate and into its nice finish with its long, firm pull of ground nuts, spice and chalky mineral notes. Pretty good stuff, with a nice touch of acidity lifting the creamy notes. Just a flush of alcohol heat disturbs the balance somewhat, otherwise, this was a decent wine, if not exactly a Grand Cru experience.

  • From another half bottle but this one was really muted. Lots of almonds and minerals but tales a long time to coax out

  • Another half bottle and this one was in good shape. Typical richness from this plot. Ripe lemons, butter vanillin oak and slightly fatty oily minerality too.
