Beautiful brick red color already moving away from the rim. This wine is ready to drink now. The nose and palette of this wine remind me of Monterey, something like Talbot. The nose has a lovely Pinot ID with dark cherry, a tiny hint of earth-it's not particularly complex but it is powerful. A fine silky texture and nice medium bodied mouth feel with lively acidity, soft tannins, hints of cola, dark cherries and red raspberries and an extended finish that focuses the fruit and acid. I've tasted at J Lohr. It's huge industrial complex and this wine comes inat over 1,000 cases but still seems to have received individual care. Not as elegant as Alysian by Gary Farrell or as "Burgundian" as Archery Summit, but a solid effort that reveals pinot possibility more than many other Central Coast wines. I would purchase more of this wine. Enjoyed it with a Middle Eastern dinner of fish in a tomato plus cumin. coriander sauce and a delicious Taboulah salad with lots of olive oil and parsley and a bit of mint. Pinot was a bit overwhelmed by all of these flavors. Try a Cab Franc next time.
