Needed to be decanted. Over 1 hour later ..... Dark, inky, reddish and purple with slight bricking. Aromas of deep dark berries, baking spices, vanilla, and a bit of licorice on the end. Same as 4 years ago. Slight nasal burning sensation. Very dry, full bodied. Tannins are very drying (not puckering but just suck all the liquid from your mouth). Tannins are still rather smooth although drying (not chunky or chewy). Good acidity keeps it all in balance. Wow .... deep berry flavours ... mulberries, blackberries, cherries on the intial attack ..... a bit of sweetness as the berries hit up front which disappears as you move to the mid-palate. Mid palate sees a nice herbal/minerality , vanilla, spices and then the dryness starts. Finishes with a bit of black tea bitterness and mulberries. Medium to longish finish. Really a nice wine. Not sure if the tannins will ever dissipate any further with age. Nice sipping wine with some complexity and rusticity. Would love to buy this again.

Popped and poured .... needs to be decanted. Over 1 hour later ..... Dark, inky, ruby and purple .... some slight bricking throughout. Aromas of deep dark berries, baking spices, vanilla, and a bit of licorice on the end. Very dry, full bodied .... puckering tannins ... but not overpowering or chunky. Acidity keeps it all in balance. Deep red berry flavours ... mulberries, blackberries. Nice bit of herbal minerality , vanilla, spices. Medium to longish finish. Overall a very nice wine to be sitting drinking quietly over an evening. Definite winner

Closed at first, but opened up nicely over dinner. Fruity, tannins smoothed out quickly. Enjoyable wine.
