  Difficult to detect as a Nebbiolo. Could be Burgundy in nose. Some violet and reluctant red berries. Refreshing acidity. At his peak. 95

  Gala Dinner at La Festa del Piemonte (The Pool Restaurant, NYC): From magnum. Big bouquet of red fruit and chocolate. Still young and tannic, but enjoyable now.

  From MAG. Really beautiful nose here. Deeper pitch with dark fruit, some smoke and rose, tar, rye bread, multilayered and complex. enters the palate with mid weight. Unlike most Nebbiolo, this feels mid weight and does not have alcoholic heat, unfortunately on the finish we still have a bit too much dry tannins. A great mature Barbaresco. Nose 96, palate 94

  Pretty much all tertiary character at this point, definitely advanced. The nose is all about damp earth, worn leather and asphalt, with a bit of dried roses, perhaps, sneaking through. Disjointed palate with a short finish. Seems to be an off bottle.
