  • cracked open belatedly to celebrate my dads 80th
    deceptively light in color (bricking)
nose- that of a liqueur, deep and rich, christmas spices, dark berry
mouth - sappy, raspberry, mature but very alive, astounding body and length. could go longer but i think drink now. never tried a musigny this old. memorable

  • Still has life to it, there is still a dense core of sour cherry, spice and a good acid structure.

  • First time with this maker and what a gorgeous bottle from Mr L. Intense floral bouquet on the nose which started subtle but eventually raised into a more intense crescendo as the evening progressed. Also started more masculine but then progressed into a much more ethereal and feminine edge over the 3 hours from opening into a more typical velvet glove in a iron fist musigny perfume. Finished quite long with a lovely addictive sois bois. Certainly one of the better musigny’s I ve had thus far.

  • Dinner at Jade Palace. Mid garnet. Light bodied. Rounded soft tannins. Smooth and elegant. Delicate fruit, and well balanced with good acidity.

  • Daniel Moine, the Mayor of Chambolle, lived in a house on the edge of the village overlooking the climate of Feusselottes. He wass blessed with the right land and a passion for fine wines. His vineyard holdings consisted of the very top sites in Chambolle, such as Les Amoureuses, Les Charmes, Les Feusselottes.Domaine Moine-Hudelot all was sold off in 2008 to Patrick Landanger of Domaine Pouse d’Or which included Bonnes Mares when Daniel retired. Moine had a daughter, but she was not interested in maintaining the domaine. The Musigny vines were sold and split between domaines Leroy in 1990 and Drouhin-Laroze in 1996.

The domaine has not produced wines for more than a decade. When Moine was making wine, Clive Coates noted that Moine “produces round, fragrant elegant wines, at the top levels of high quality
