Charleston Offlineorama IV; 9/27/2018-10/1/2018 (Charleston, NC (various locations)): 11th/11 wines tasted. Wow this was my total surprise wine of the weekend! It was interesting on Friday, but it blew my socks off on Sunday when we retried from the remaining half bottle. So complex and herbal and layered. Can't believe this almost 130 years old and so alive. Really cool stuff!

Charleston IV - Return of the Collectible; 9/27/2018-9/30/2018 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): Bought these a few years ago and was looking for a good opportunity to bring them out again. At this point in the night the notes are less detailed and I took a smaller pour of this one given the intensity. Lots of raisin and fig notes here. Tasty. Smooth. Hard to believe it's so old. We came back to this wine after the Sunday blind tasting and it was in a whole other place and at a whole other level. The sharpness had faded and the dried fruit aspect was really coming through and it was just so very smooth and lovely.
