  • 2008 Burg blind tasting. Muted nose still, earthy palate with some funk, compressed and strict. Not much pleasure due to structure.

  • This is at a great place, I think it will be great for another 5 years but you don’t need to wait . We decanted for about an hour and served it with veal scallopini with white mushrooms, a great match. Balance between fruit and mineral is great.

  • NR for now... felt pretty much shut down hard, had over two hours after a three hour decant (including two back-and-forth pouring from decanter to decanter -- due to it feeling pretty shut down, good acidity to lift and longevity, not very giving but what was there seemed nice and maybe even promising... hmmm, will def'ly try to wait on my last 6 btls for at least 5 years (tho my record of patience is pretty bad!)

  • Still a lot of crunchy youth in this…not that expressive…iron fist velvet glove thing…very pretty wild red berry fruit with tilled strawberry field, dried flower florals, red licorice dryness, sandalwood spice…racy tart finish with just tad bit of sous bois showing…not really showing very Grand Cru right now…in need of more time. Drinking rest of bottle right now next day… tasty, yet uninspiring.

  • Really delicious after a couple decanter hours. Moderate-to dark burgundy color. Initially, cherry pits, cranberries, brambles, spices, and sous bois. This became more intense cherry, vanilla, and mushrooms later as it showed more softness. Long finish. Seem like this is in its prime drinking window, but should drink well for some time yet, so I'll hold my last bottle for a couple more years.
