  • This intense ruby red wine offers deep cherry and dark floral aromas, licorice and vanilla, dried spices, accent leather. The palate is juicy and leads with fairly intense spicy, cherry flavors layered with coffee and spice. Medium-bodied with a fresh, lingering finish. Well balanced and full of flavor.

This wine would pair well with Italian pasta dishes and fresh cheeses.

  • Initially very stuffy and musty nose - probably just some reduction there, because this element cleared after 15 minutes or so. Decanted +30 minutes in the bottle. Very light ruby color. Spice, leather jacket and slight waxiness in the distinctive nose. More classic Valpolicella aromas on the palate: morello cherries with tart lingonberry / cranberry aromas, lively acidity. A touch of spice and phenolic funk. Pretty fresh a wine with some attitude - needs some food to accompany it. Nothing heavy, but something with fat for the acidic zing. Mid-length finish with ripe berries and fresh acidity. No tannins.

An ok Valpolicella, but very forgettable, even a little bit boring. I've had better at this price (10,88€).
