@ Restaurant Vineum in Rotterdam: Bottle No 99 from only 292 bottles made ! Classic Leroy nose, exotic and intense. Taste of boiled raspberry candy, forest mushrooms with super concentrated flavours. On the finish amazing textures and delicious complexity. Impossible to find and Incredible for a village wine!

Small tasting glass @ VINEUM during service, so a brief note. Wow, this is truely something special. Very intense, as well in the nose as in the taste. Very concentrated for just a village wine, drinking amazing at the moment!

Leiden in Rotterdam at Vineum: Really lovely wine by Leroy. Although this is a 26 year old village Burgundy, this wine excelled. Red fruit, secondary tones of mushroom, still nice acidity. Very fine, very special.

Another Casual Burgundy Dinner (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Started with a slightly moldy character when poured and again when re-poured. Fortunately that musty note dissipated with 10 minutes in glass each time. I think that problem was bottle specific due to leakage and a soaked through cork, with a moldy smell even coming through the wax.
Once past that mold, there was a lot of dense and meaty black fruit coming across as very ripe with moderate structure. Nicely mature. Very meaty, tasty and fun, even if slightly one dimensional. Good now, although possibly better a few years back given the wine's intense ripeness.

Lean, fresh and precise red fruit and mineral notes on the nose. Quite a bit of red fruit, iron and some Burgundy funk on the palate. A bit tannic on the medium finish. Interesting.
