The decision was to test a slightly older SB against a young SB (so this one was called to duty as the slightly older). Both wines perform (and will be tested again over the weekend) very well. I agree (again) with previous TN that it is more loaded/complex than other Sauvignon Blancs. More oak and golden color compared with young SB. Very nice peach on the nose, minor on the citrus compared to young SB. I think it has more honey on the palate tasting than a young SB.
One notable differences between the last time I tasted it (about 9-10 months ago) and in compared to the young SB is that indeed, this one enjoys 'colder' side more. I found out that I was not worry if the younger SB got warmer a bit and it was still open very well and enjoyable.
I think this one has few more years ahead of it, and it is in great spot. Since it was the last bottle in the cellar, I'd have to quest for another one.

Poured into the caraf, and waited 20 minutes or so... Very good, and would get even better over time. I agree with previous TN that it is more loaded/complex than other Sauvignon Blancs. Very nice peach on the nose. Little pineapple, and I enjoyed the light oak on the background (ymmv) Yellow/gold color. Balanced honey on the taste, very enjoyable. The acidity level is well balanced (though some tasters claimed it is slightly strong). It does taste better on the colder side (we put it back on the ice after around). Next time, I'd be making sure to keep it chilled all round...

Have always loved this wine...richer and sweeter than your typical SB. This 07 is LOADED with everything! A lot sweeter and richer(oily) than I remember....exotic tropical, peach, lemon, marmalade, pineapple fruit....yet with a zippy orange, pineapple, lemon citrus acidity to cut up the richness nicely. Slight heat on the finish, but pretty well balanced. Reminds me of a SQN white if made with SB. Very exotic, creamy, smoked honeycomb, flint, lemon bars, floral blossoms, tingly citrus......very tasty! Would love to hold on to one for 10+yrs...should age no problem.

superb combination of crisp SB with some grapefruit, but with a creamy finish. wife thought it a touch sweet, but beautifully balanced. Oak was present but not powerful.

Another home run for Altamura. Consistent with the previous bottle, right down to the tartaric chrystals. Strong pear, light citrus, oak, a bit of clove with a nice acidity. Wonderfully creamy. Drink now.
