Drank side by side with a 2005 Arcadian Syrah (Purisima Mountain Vineyard). This was the crowd favorite by far. Well structured syrah, with complexity, hints of berries, and spices, and a pleasant long finish. Very enjoyable now!

This has lost a little of its savory character since the last bottle, but still very nice. It's now more of a warmer tasting syrah, which is not quite my preferred style. Although there is still some structure, I am not sold on hanging onto this. Drink up!

Long decant for 3+ hrs. Nose fragrant and aromatic violets, vanilla, bacon, meat. Full bodied with a smooth texture. Blue and blackberry flavors. Nicely integrated wine that is drinking very well now. Lasting finish that had me reaching for another sip. 5,14,16,6=91

With Xmas eve lambchops. We had this and a Crozes-Hermitage, and this was to my thinking the more N. Rhone-like of the two. Savory, with some olive and a whole lot of roasted cured meat, like bacon in a glass. Nice, smooth tannins. Some dried blueberry and violet notes as you would expect. I buried my nose in the glass and reveled in the violet and meaty notes. Second bottle I have had of this wine and this one really was shining.
