  • This has lost a fair amount of its initial allure, which was much about clarity and freshness. At the moment it is too dominated by wormwood/sagebrush aromas and oaky fudge. Perhaps a long airing would fix it, but we didn't have the patience. Quite nice anyway, but not outstanding anymore. If you have any, keep them for like three years, and decant well in advance before drinking.

  • Fruity (cherries) on the nose but also a green, mineral character. Tannic, with bitter notes and quite acidic too. Improved with air and developed a fruity finish, with moderate length.

  • Knowing what to expect of this wine made it more enjoyable. I aerated it in a narrow decanter (which I seldom do with Pinot Noir, but it does this wine a service). The aromas are of fresh fruit, vegetables, citric notes and exotic spices. The palate is robust, but not very tannic. A really different expression of Pinot Noir.

  • Here we have the fresh, red fruit we did'nt find in Kreuzberg's 07 Schieferlay GG yesterday. Reductive, green aromas settle after a short airing. Lively and engaging acids with orange or sangria-like quailities. We like this ahr x slate pinot more for every encounter. The swedish price (€20) is right so let's lay a few bottles down. As an answer to Maestro's TN: Marquis d'Angerville's 07 Bourgogne AOC is a simpler wine, although more tannic.

  • Very reductive at first, with herbacious, mineral and muddy notes. After two hours the young pinot fruit sings loud and clear, with the iron notes typical of blue slate. Make sure to decant hours in advance and don't forget to put a few bottles away for the future.
