This remains a dark cherry colour with a fine nose of dark cherry, wild strawberry and touches of spice and cumquat. The palate is deeply flavoured with plenty of dark fruits, touches of spice and a touch of cumquat. The tannins have a gravelly touch with good persistence. A very good Villages in great shape at 21 years.

Dark young colour that belies its age. Nose complex black fruits, touches of rose, spice and dark chocolate : really developed over 4 hours. Palate medium weight with quite intense black fruits and spice leading to sorbet touches on the finish. Very good village wine particularly for the year.

Not as charming as the 2000 version of this wine enjoyed recently, this comes across as slightly more rustic and austere with firm tannins that still needs to be resolved. The fruit is still very much alive and well and there's flavors of nice, mature Pinot funk on the palate. I would give this a few more years in the cellar and hope the tannins doesn't outlive the fruit.

A very pretty wine. Rust colored, and a bit lighter around the edge. Some funk on the nose that blew off rather quickly. Raspberries and nice minerality throughout. Excellent with food. No idea as to how this might still evolve, but certainly nothing wrong with drinking it now.
