Light wine, soft and delicate, lots of red currants, green apples, fresh lime (citrus flavours), with an aromatic Burgundian floral nose. Easy to drink, elegant. Lengthy finish. After about 3-4 hours of decanting, hints of chocolate started to emerge, and slight bitter orange peel flavours on the finish.

Dinner with the crew (Chatswood, Sydney): Tight and ungiving nose, with some cherry after vigorous swirling. The palate is in a similar mould, with tannins at the fore and an austere finish. May just need some time, but I'm not sure it will come around.
