  Bitter on first opening, but fruit came out on second and third tasting. Ravenswood never stints on high impact fruit, and this wine, while inelegant, is a CA big red. Not much to distinguish from a Zin or Cab, but at this price a good value. Will the fruit outlive the tannin?

  Review: This 2007 Merlot is a deep purple color. It’s little green on the nose, also picking up some heat. I get aromas of Cherry, Plum and Blackberry with subtle Vanilla and Oak. Plum and Sour Cherry on the palate. Tart Acidity, Medium dry tannins, soft mid-palate. It's an average table wine, drinkable but nothing to write home about.
