licorice, spice and smoke at first, as it opened in the glass we got more dark fruit but also some bright red fruit and acidity, very smooth tannins. Could not get a sense of the nose, I think it is likely because the restaurant we took it to uses tumblers for wine glasses. An excellent wine.

A bit light with a sweet attack. Smooth, sweet, simple fruit with hints of leather, pencil lead, olive. Some dark notes. Long, sweet, simple finish. A bit overly sweet, fairly simple, but nice, friendly, nicely aged. Easy to drink, but not much structure. Not profound, but nice, complete. Doubt it'll get better, but will keep for a while. A well stored bottle. B/B+

Subtle fruit remains despite powdered cork.

1995 Vintage Cabernet Sauvignons (BevMo, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Nice cabernet nose, touch of tar, slightly hot, simple fruit on the palate, medium, soft tannins on the long finish.
