Purchased this small production bottling (250 cases made) in Sydney for around US$23. I had never seen an Aussie tempranillo before and snagged it to share with tlily, since he is pioneering the growing of tempranillo in Santa Cruz. This wine had a Willy Wonka nose of candied cherry gobstoppers. Light-medium bodied. Very fleshy and fruit forward, with a brief attack of sweet raspberry and maraschino cherries. However, the mid-palate and finish were AWOL. In dire need of guts and backbone.
