  Slightly hazy. Tawny and garnet. Floral and perfume. Light to medium bodied. Perhaps slightly past its peak but still holding in there. Got better with air. Label condition was superb and I believe a late release. Ever so slightly corked but it blew off with some air. Always a delight to drink old wine. CK40 birthday.

  I have been drinking so many young Burgundies lately that I almost forgot what it was like to drink one that is mature and fully delicious. These were kept at Domaine until a couple of years ago. It has not been topped or reconditioned other than a few were re-corked prior to putting on labels. My bottle is impeccable. This is utterly delicious. It starts limpid red with a pretty opaqueness. The nose hints at Sous Bois, but it is more late summer, in the mountains, when you don't want to leave, but you know it is time to head south. I cannot believe how fresh, almost tart the wine is. It is totally red fruited on the nose and in the mouth. Bam, it enters almost sensually, tart and sassy, and f u l l., but graceful. I am haunted by the finish, and saying to myself, 'this is why I love Burgundy!' I do love it!!

  Quite certain this ahs been re-conditioned at the domaine as the fill level was high and cork perfect. The nose shows a little caramel along with sous bois. In the mouth it is sweet and vinous with plenty of earth and decaying leaf. It is tasty but rather simple.
